St. George Weekend

We went down to St. George a few weeks ago with Ry's family.
His parents took us all to Tuachan to see some plays!
We went down on Friday morning.
Our first stop was in Cedar City for some breaded chicken at Market Grill
and to visit mommy dearest!

Then we went on to Stg
We got there early enough that we were able to lay out by the pool for a bit before it was time to get ready for the play
That night was Wizard of Oz
Jill went with all of us and Poppa Keith stayed back at the condo to watch Grey and Luca
We were so grateful that they were willing to switch nights of watching plays with us so that we were able to go to both of them!

The next day we went back to the pool for some more sun time!
That evening we went to dinner at a yummy mexican restaurant suggested by Jess and Lysh
and it was really yummy!
Plus we had the cutest little booth thing where we could all sit together and I really liked that.
It was raining and we were just certain that the play was going to be canceled.
I was getting really sad because it was Little Mermaid that night
and I have wanted to see that play at Tuachan for quite a few years now
I was so happy that it was finally going to happen!
then some rain was going to ruin it.. and that was going to be so sad.
But.. we went anyway
Keith came with us this time and Jill stayed back with Grey and Luca
We got lucky and it only sprinkled a bit after intermission, but nothing too bad!
Hooray!
It was such a great play
I am so happy I was finally able to see it!
Wizard of Oz was awesome too...
but Little Mermaid won I think
it was just so cool how they did all the under the water stuff
It was pretty cool though.. a lot of the same people from Wizard of Oz were in Little Mermaid as well
including the main part.. the girl who played Dorthy also played Ariel..
and she did so great!
It was interesting to see them act out different parts
It totally amazes me that someone can remember lines for one part
let alone two totally different parts on consecutive nights..

On Sunday Ryan and I watched Kylie and Grey while everyone else went to the temple dedication at the church.
When they got back we all went swimming again for our last bit of sunshine!!

We had such a great weekend with family
The plays
the sun
the company
the food
It all was amazing!
We had such a fun time.. and baby Luca was a champ!
We are so grateful to Poppa Keith and Jill for taking us for a getaway weekend!!

Now.. picture time! :)

As we were leaving Little Mermaid there was this guy who was not about to let anyone in!
It was hilarious.. he would have preferred to hit the car in front of him before he was going to let someone get in front of him

Ry looks sleepy.. and I look real wide eyed.. but hey! it's all of us! except poppa keith.. he was the photographer!

Swiss days + Laundry mishaps + Bridal Veil Falls

I almost quit doing laundry
Really.
I ruined a few of Ryan's shirts when we were very first married
and I never forgave myself
Then just a few weeks ago I did the same thing again
I didn't check Ryan's pockets
and he loves himself some chapstick
this time I decided to try and find a cure for all these oily chapstick stains
pinterest is wonderful
and had all sorts of good things
But the majority of concauctions had one key ingredient
Dawn dish soap

So me, dawn, a toothbrush, and some lovely clothing items had a date one morning
And all I did was drop a little dot of dawn
scrub and scrub in circles with a wet toothbrush
Let sit for 30 minutes
wash normally
hang dry.. to make sure the stains came out
And guess what... they did!!
I didn't take afters..
and the before's really don't do it justice.. but it was pretty bad

I have heard of Swiss Days a lot on social media and all the crafter people I follow
and I've really wanted to go up and see what it's all about
so I talked Ryan into going..
and then everyone else thought it might be fun
So we headed up

We had to wait in line for 20 minutes for the bus from the parking lot to the actual event
and it looked like it was going to down pour at any minute
but we still continued on!

It was soooo super packed!!
I mean.. I figured it would be.
But wow. It was craziness!
way too many people in one place

And we spent all of our time walking around the actual swiss days
and we were able to see all of the vendors
and when we were done I realized we hadn't come across the one vendor I actually wanted to go for
so Ryan and I went running around the outskirts..
because we noticed that there were even more vendors out there
and come to find out.. that's where all the really good stuff is
All the super cute baby stuff that I was wanting to look at
So.. we spent our time in the wrong place..
I'll remember that next time
Right Ry?... there will be a next time!?

He looks really grumpy.. but he's faking it.. for the most part!

Our next adventure was to bridal veil falls
We went and had lunch at the park and then walked up to the falls
I think this was on labor day?
is that what day just happened?
or was it memorial day?
I can't ever keep all those days straight..
Anyway.. here are the pictures of the day

And a few random pictures...

I finally decided to throw away all of my school stuff
because I officially am no longer a student!
What?! What is that?!
the best news ever.. that's what!

Don't worry.. I recycled :)

Remember How I said I almost quit doing laundry?
I'm not kidding..
after the chapstick mishap.. it made me more aware..
so I check pockets now.. just in case!
and I did just that.
I felt so proud..
"I've got this laundry business.."
"no chapstick is going to ruin my day"
wash.. throw in the dryer.. go get clothes out of the dryer only to find this...

I couldn't believe it..
I started flipping through all the clothes
vigorously shaking them out to find whatever I had missed
It looked like lip stick
But nothing..
I couldn't find anything
Only red splotches all over everything
my favorite grey tshirt, ryans favorite green shorts, my coral skirt.. again..
2 new shirts ryan had just bought..

I started checking pockets again
and I found some sort of red something in Ryan's sweat shorts pocket
I have no clue how I missed whatever this was
I couldn't figure out what it was!
But it was all stuck together
almost like it was gum or something.. but it wasn't.

I was so upset
I just had to walk out
and left them all there on the floor

I told Ry about it and that I was quitting laundry
he came home and researched remedies
and eneded up spraying every little spot with oxy clean
and the majority of stuff came out completely clean!
It was a miracle

And we think we figured out the culprit
a vitamin...
How did I miss that in my pocket emptying!?
I was too proud of myself.. so it had to humble me back down I guess..

and who puts vitamins in their pocket anyway??
Oh, just my cute husband?!
Okay.. I just wanted to check!
It's a good thing he's so dang cute..
and so willing to help me when I screw up all our clothes :| oops.

--Our First Home--

We got really lucky..
Before we got married we Ryan was searching endlessly for apartments
we wanted something down in Orem
It was close to his work
But also close to his parents..
which meant close to Alysha..
which meant we could carpool to school together.
And we all know I especially need someone to drive me everywhere when it snows
So.. this was an important thing

I also wanted somewhere that had an extra room..
ya know.. for my crafts!

We needed it to have a washer and dryer
because I wash my clothes every time I wear them..
Oh wait.. nope. wrong person. I'm the gross one :) {love you ry}

And Ryan and I both have enough clothes for at least 5 more people
so a large closet was something we hoped for.

and.. we found somewhere that matched all of this
So we went to look at it..
the very first place we looked at
And we loved it!
It was open and spacious and just perfect for us!
So we got it!

Only one problem...

We had to start our lease the end of June.
We didn't get married until the end of August.

Ryan was living with his parents and I was living with my sister at the time
Of course Ryan was excited for our own place
so he started moving his stuff in right away
Until...
his crazy fiance said that wasn't in the plan
We needed to have our first nights sleep there TOGETHER!!
Duh!
like the movies, ya know?
Up late unpacking boxes together
sleeping on the floor and talking about how great your first apartment is
laughing until the wee hours of the morning
spending every first moments in this house together.. not apart
He couldn't have all the firsts there without me present..
that wouldn't be like the movies..

He was only a little surprised by this response by me
and then very willingly agreed to what I wanted..
cus he loved me
and even though he thought I was crazy {and I am}
He was willing to do it for me.
I wasn't asking for much..
Just for him to pay 2 months rent on an empty apartment..
Oopsie!

Anyways.. here is our cute first apartment!
We have absolutely loved our time here
And the craft room..
Well, it quickly got taken over by one cute baby boy!!
