Height/Weight
At his six month check up he was weighing in at 16 lbs 2 oz and 26.75 inches
He's definitely growing, but starting to plateau out a little bit on the charts.
He didn't love his shots .. he had to get 4 different pokes this time and it mad his momma so sad!
Diapers
We just bought a new box of diapers in a size 3!
Getting too big too fast!
He has struggled a little bit with trying out solid food and it has made him a little constipated
he's only been pooping about once a week.
He doesn't seem to be too bothered by it though.. only some times does it appear to be hurting him
Eating
We have tried and tried with different foods.
He really doesn't like anything.
no rice, no oatmeal, no bananas, pears, apples, sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, peas, etc. etc.
We just recently tried these squeezy baby food pouches and he seems to like those a little better
they have a few different flavors together..
also I think he likes eating out of them better than with a spoon
We've tried mum mums.. and he seems to enjoy those
however, he still gags on them.
I think it's because the texture bothers him
but it still makes me too nervous that maybe he's choking and so we are holding off on those for a bit longer now.
He got to the point that he wouldn't even let me feed him..
Just throws his head clear back..
So we've given it a rest now. I don't want to force him.
I think he just wants to skip straight to adult food!
We got him a sippy cup recently
and he really likes to have cold water
He's been teething the last few weeks so I think the cold feels good on his gums
speaking of teething..
that is really the saddest thing
poor little guy was so grumpy for a few days and we couldn't figure out what was wrong
then finally we saw that his gums were opening up for teeth to pop through.
I felt so bad because I had been frustrated with him for being so grumpy
and I couldn't believe he had really been in pain and I hadn't done anything to make it better.
Needless to say, we made sure to keep up on all medicine after that!
He had only 1 bad night.. he woke up screaming and we couldn't calm him down
he didn't want to eat or suck on is binky or be held or set down
he was just so sad!
Luckily we finally calmed him down and back to sleep
and I barely made it to walgreens before midnight to grab some orajel
We have also tried drinkable yogurt out of the sippy cup
and he sort of liked it.. for a few sips
then he didn't want anything to do with it and didn't dare drink water out of it for awhile for fear that it may be yogurt still. hah
Sleeping
This little stinker still isn't sleeping through the night
his nights vary a lot too
sometimes eh goes every 2 hours. sometimes every 3. sometimes 4 and then every 2.
it's seriously all over the place..
but it's definitely no where near almost sleeping through the night
between putting his binky in and feeding him I get out of bed about 3-10 times a night
luckily it's usually only a few times. but I still wish it was no times. that would be great.
He also still isn't much of a nap taker.
I can usually only get a few 30 minute naps out of him
sometimes they are an hour.
and very very occasionally they can last up to 2 hours.
(Which is happening as I write this actually.. we've just passed the 2 hour mark.. hooray!!)
Social
He is the cutest little guy.. I mean seriously.
I know I'm his mom.. and therefor biased. but he is too cute.
and he wins over almost everyone he meets.
he's not afraid of strangers {yet}.
He thinks all his cousins are so funny and loves to be around all of them
he also loves animals, especially dogs. He thinks Rory is just as great as we do!
He does this cutest little fake laugh lately.. and it is too stinkin cute.
He also did this thing with his tongue for awhile where he would stick it out
I am so sad it didn't last longer.. I miss it!
He's such a curious little guy and notices everything around him.
It's so fun to see him paying attention and learning new things
He is SO so close to crawling.
I feel like he's been close for about a month now. I kept thinking it would happen any day
but it's definitely been a slow process
he now is getting it down more
he kinda does a worm movement where he just lunges forward.
But he is able to get to things that he wants for the most part
I can't wait for him to be able to move around more though
He hates when I sit him down and I am excited for him to be able to follow me around the house
I'm hoping I'll be able to get more done without him feeling so sad if I walk away for even a second
Clothes
Wearing size 3-6 (6 months) and a few 6-9 month outfits
although they are still pretty baggy on him.
Favorite toys
Luca loves this spatula from our kitchen
it's been one of his favorite toys for awhile now
I think it must feel good on his teefers
He also really loves anything that has strings
if there is a drawstring anywhere nearby.. he will find it!
He only likes them for a short amount of time
We recently did a book exchange.. it's been so fun to get books in the mail!
We only had to send 1 out and are supposed to get 36 back if everyone participates
So far we have gotten 5 back.. and to me that's even totally worth it!
I love books new books for him!
He gets pretty sick of all of his toys within about 5 minutes
this includes his bumbo, bouncy chair, jumpy thing.. any and all hand held toys.. etc
He mostly just likes to be held.. all. day. long.
Random

He NEVER falls asleep on me anymore!
But it has happened a few times lately.. and it seriously is my absolute favorite!
I miss him being a little tiny snuggly man.
We couldn't decide what to have him be for Halloween

But then we saw this chicken outfit april had.. that all her kids have been.. and we were sold!
