Luca's First Birthday!

I had such a fun time planning Luca's first birthday party!
He became very interested in balloons a few months back and that was where the theme of balloons was born from.
Obviously balloons are at every birthday, but I wanted it to really have balloons all over.
And since balloons are colorful, I decided to add confetti/sprinkles to the mix!
It turned out perfect!
I think he really enjoyed it. It was cute when he got there after I had it all set up and he was just pointing to all the balloons and looking around at everything. I hope he felt a little special on his special day! :)

We started out the day with balloons in his crib.
there's the cutest video of him playing with all the balloons and pointing and babbling to them
But for some reason it won't load, so a picture will have to do!
Then we had blueberry muffins for breakfast!
He loves blueberries and has never had the muffins, so I thought it might be a fun new treat.
He seemed to like them, and they've lasted us this whole week for breakfast.. so that's a win!

Jill was gracious enough to let us do the party at her house!
Our apartment just isn't quite big enough for all the decor I had in mind ;)
Plus all the guests!

Luca does this thing these days where if you are singing, or he hears singing, he wants to join in.
So he goes aahhhhhh aaahhhhhh and it's funny and adorable
well, that's what he started doing near the end of the happy birthday song
so we got this picture of him where it looks like he is blowing out the candle!
So great!
and here.. he wasn't really too sure what to think of it
And he wasn't sure what to think of it for awhile
it took a bit to warm up to, but by the very end he decided to try and take a bite right out of it.

We had lots of family there for the celebration!
It was so fun!
Grandma and Grandpa Myers and Parsons, Gram and Grap Parsons, Joe and Karrissa and their kids,
Ryan and April and their kids, and Mike and Hill.
We were so grateful for everyone taking the time to be there for his first party!

When I first put his party hat on he wasn't too sure he wanted anything to do with it and gave us this cute little frowny face

Grey and Jack Jack and their cake pops!

Luca got so many fun new toys!
Ryan and I got him this elephant riding/walker toy
and a toy with some box ball things that you put down the slides
and a couple books, because we love new books!
My parents got him a fun teepee that he spends all day in!
Ry's parents got him a cute ball thing that you stand up to and can put water in if you use it outside
and a frame with pictures from his first year.
He also got a music toy, a tool box, bubbles, a table and chair set, a wooden jeep,
a floatie for the pool, a busy book, and the cutest train book that has tracks that the little train rides goes along.
He was spoiled.. and our living room has suddenly turned into a play room.. Yikes!
See below..

he loves to play peek a boo in his tent

I love love love this birthday boy!
He makes life so much fun.
I loved planning this party for him,
and I can't wait for many more years of party planning!
But.. I hope they come slower than this first birthday did!

Love you baby boy! I sure hope you had a special day!
